Single for Streets of Rage

+++

It’s me against the world, because all lives matter. That’s why we say f society, in these streets of rage.

+++

lyrics

Lord they got us trapped
Claim we’re a violent threat strapped
Must be a thug if we do rap
Living like caged beast that’s a fact
So many emotions fill me
but I gotta be real g
I hope you see clearly if you’re near me
Holla if you hear me please feel me

I obey the law and I still get tackled
I follow the rules and still I’m shackled
No way to be free in the land of the brave
Bow down shut your mouth be a slave

Situation today The atmosphere is hostile
Gotta watch out no one knows the gospel
They’d rather gossip and put my face on social media
Competition is strange and government getting greedier

That’s why cats in the streets are strapped ready to react
Not opinion these are facts just ask the blacks
Cuz the country following the leader of the pack
Coward would rather exec a law than admit the war is a fact

Can’t diagnose the enemy can’t even face the problem
Tell me where he went to college and learned how to solve em
I guess the streets acting wild is just a side effect too
Why dismiss the youth in hoods these projects won’t bless you

What should you do when you hate on us too
Prejudiced to assume what I wear and what I’ll do
This is my crew and we don’t have room for your antics
So you better step down before you get back handed

I obey the law and I still get tackled
I follow the rules and still I’m shackled
No way to be free in the land of the brave
Bow down shut your mouth be a slave

I guess I’ll take it all to the grave
What a shame
Another video of another mistake
What a shame
God I wish there was another way
What a shame
To serve and protect still we pray
What a shame

This is the new standard got my ocl right here
Martial law is to fear in the cross heirs
I can’t even collect run off water off my rain gutter
You need me to depend on you plugged in and shutter

Picture me solo surviving on my own doing it right
Instead you wanna take my money now I gotta fight
Assist me in every way so I’m nothing without you
But these cowardly moves is exactly why I doubt you

We all need truth and as for you, you make up lies
You create your own truth and reality you despise
I guess I can’t front because this is how it is every week
But I feel cornered and I can’t turn the other cheek

God I need to speak up before my blood leaks out
Speak up and stand up gotta lead before we bleed out
Last of a dying breed and millennials are brainwashed
Just as you planned it and you can’t even explain trust

I obey the law and I still get tackled
I follow the rules and still I’m shackled
No way to be free in the land of the brave
Bow down shut your mouth be a slave

I guess I’ll take it all to the grave
What a shame
Another video of another mistake
What a shame
God I wish there was another way
What a shame
To serve and protect still we pray
What a shame

This is for the boys in blue
I got you
This is for my brothers in the streets too
I got you
This is for those who died on tv
I got you
This is for the sheeple programmed
I got you

You know I got to.

#Salvation EP

+++

Dear Leaders,

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. We pray this resource can be a tool you can use to lead your flock down the road to righteousness no matter their age. As an AnchorMAN, I Chris Treborn wanted to share the good news of Jesus with my family, especially my young children.

At first this was a hip-hop project of a Gospel message & Rap lyrics. Although these lyrics are scripture heavy, the words are simple enough to memorize especially with the beat.

My plan slowly faded and God took control. It turned into a site and a resource. It turned into a leader’s guide to help people like you understand the scriptures found in the book of Romans, and some key words that helped define each step. I even researched illustrations for us to share with our kids to help them relate to the message here.

The more I share The Romans Road To Salvation, the bigger the vision becomes. I am currently finishing up the recording of the Soundtrack to this project, and I pray we can help launch a discussion with your family, a small group, a bible study, or even a sermon series. Only God knows the limit to what TRRTS can do for you and your flock, your family, your community.

With your help, we can do the great commission and go and make disciples. And not only that, but we can teach these simple truths that will help lay the foundation and provide a road map for their road to righteousness. Of course there is only One Way. Through Jesus Christ. So let’s unite in the Holy Spirit and go forth.

We have been called to be AnchorMEN. Men and spiritual leaders anchored into Christ as our solid rock. We are breaking the chains of disconnected generations and connecting to the cornerstone.

Let’s do what AnchorMEN do, and share the Good News.
In Jesus’ name! A-MEN!!!

Single for Simplicity

+++

The future of simplified living. It’s about the seasons of fall/winter & the depression it brings. Can this really be our future?

+++

lyrics

Let me take you to a place
where the heroes don’t wear masks
Let me take you to a land
where the milk and honey lasts
You spending time like money’s fast
big hand sees the little hand
Do you not understand
that on the high horse is the little man
Someone like Napoleon
losing my religion searching for peace
But no peace found when
you don’t have a piece losing your teeth
Rotten to the core,
sorry but your faith is deceased
May it rest in peace
as your walking dead corpse roams the streets
Your mind sounds so simple
but that’s not the case
We must face disgrace
if we replace doubts with faith
Just ask grace & Luke
they know what to do when it’s time
A simplified life
leaves a complicated system behind.
It’s s system of a down
so we rage against the machine
Looking for sublime nirvana in September
& November smashing pumpkins
They don’t call it the fall season for nothing
yet we harvest something
This is he legends of fall
Don’t you hear from where the wolves call
Simplicity. Not a simple city.
Unplugged reconnected
with the source of eternity.
Just me and my wifi.
Tether together no matter the weather. Something like my ride or die.
This is why I comply and don’t lie.
Why try. Can’t deny
my pride prevents my stride.
Looking like a bozo
but if the shoe fits
Stop clowning around
don’t be a nuisance
Someone like Dennis
Nothing but a menace
Knew you’d be back in time
like Marty McFly
Eventually all will see
That we sail the seas as we please
Sorry for the tease
But time turns to temptation please
More like a disease
If only we were free
But I thought we were
Looks like we’re still at war
Stuck in sin city
No luck for simplicity
No more diversity
Jumbo pots show no pity
No minority report we see
The future is crystal clear like Pepsi+++

Single for Sabbatical

It’s been awhile since Chris Treborn has dropped a single for The S-Word.

+++

lyrics

Some might call it radical
I might call it a sabbatical
not to get religious with you
but this is my own point of view
What did you do for fun
since the winter season begun
splinter on trees have won
but I’ve been carrying this log along
Sorry for the lack of songs
I no longer lack 2 sons
I have been hold it down
with my AnchorFAM around town
No time to clown around
no hide and seek lost and found
trying to walk in these shoes
but if the shoe fits its not news
Cloudy days but no blues
same game but different rules
tons of knowledge but all fools
lacking wisdom we need some tools
Sorry for my lack of passion
not many have been asking
but I don’t put it past them
I still have music and lyrics to grab them
Get your attention oh did I mention
I’ve been focused on the family
like Jim Daly I got vision
I need to be a better me
Better husband and father
better lover and brother
better friend and comrade
better emcee with a bomb rap
Never did I lack lyrics
never did I lack spirit
never did I lack music
I just haven’t had to use it
Why would I lose it
I win when I choose it
No need to abuse this
Y’all need this to groove with
I need to get back on a smooth tip
time to take you on a new trip
I hope you are cool with
riding shotgun in my blue whip

Single for Swift

After accepting a challenge from Anthony Trask, I wrote what I could based off of one S-Word: SWIFT. I came up with the lyrics within.

As for the music, I created 3 different instrumentals for The S. Word project and this was the second one. The sounds reminds me of something by a rapper from New Orleans or Houston. Southern Gospel like.

lyrics

My attitude was slain in order to be saved too
Maturity mentality actuality not the same dude
Down to the river I had to drown my fears
Wash over my tears, so insecure
All within years losing all my peers
nothing to cheer just a golden bear
Hold up right here time for a new start
Escape for a chance for change renew bruised heartIf I can be quick if you catch my drift
We can uplift but we must be swift
How much time do we have left on our side
Before the selfless servant takes his bride
Will his kingdom rise and where will we reside
Will we conquer fear and pride if flesh is denied
Swift is his justice even if it’s just us
Swift is the sickle thank GOD he loves us
Who can we trust with so much opposition
Tell the whole world that is our mission
Pay attention or repay submission
Pray with passion or be prey when fishing
This ain’t draft kings but I feel it won’t last
Like we’ll be forgotten memories will be past
Number 87. Number 87
I remember when all would laugh
But this smooth talker was swift
chatting up fastMy attitude was slain in order to be saved too
Maturity mentality actuality not the same dude
Down to the river I had to drown my fears
Wash over my tears, so insecure
All within years losing all my peers
nothing to cheer just a golden bear
Hold up right here time for a new start
Swift to escape at a chance to unlock my heart

Never went to parties as a teenager
Never hit up them bars 21 still a stranger
Slow to progress yet swift to take advantage oh
I had my ways to accomplish long term goals
Picky i suppose who knows I was clothed
Masked up with a fast strut I was dope
Addictive personality with chameleon tendencies
Sharp shooter behavior lady killing ask friends of me
My best friend was butter recording for fun
When I was 23 I was air Jordan on em
Legs spread, tongue out, hand on the ball
Something like Miley something like a wrecking ball
Added a why to my name so people would ask why
Plus they would remember and never forget mine
Some wanted to drop the mic and walk away
But if they forgot my joke I’d belly flop in pain

My attitude was slain in order to be saved too
Maturity mentality actuality not the same dude
Down to the river I had to drown my fears
Wash over my tears, so insecure
